This and the following pages cover a visit to Paris between Christmas and New Year in 2006. Our journey from London by Eurostar ended at the Gare du Nord in Paris. It was just a short walk from the station to the Hotel de l'Europe in Boulevard de Magenta, an inexpensive but welcoming hotel which would be our base for the next three days.
