This website records a tour to Austria from 20 December to 26 December in 2006.

On 20 December 2006 thirty or more hopeful travellers on a tour arranged by a UK travel company to Fiederbrunn in the Austrian Tirol (Tyrol) arrived at Terminal 1 in Heathrow Airport around 7:30 am.

Hopes of an uncomplicated flight to Munich were soon dashed when the scheduled British Airways flight was cancelled due to fog. During the morning chaos reigned at the airport as more and more flights were cancelled and the terminal quickly filled to capacity with disgruntled passengers.

Although there were some problems to overcome the tour company later decided to provide a coach from London Airport to transport their several parties overnight to Austria.

Six people from Terminal 1 and approximately twenty five from Terminal 2, who had been similarly affected, eventually joined the coach at 7:30 pm that evening and set out for Fieberbrunn and Kitzbühel.

After a midnight crossing of the English Channel the following evening saw a relieved and much happier party arriving in the Austrian Tirol......

......and at our destination - the Schloss Hotel Rosenegg in Fieberbrunn.
